Typical Day (2-3 years)

Parents/carers and nursery staff create an individual care plan for each child taking into account the childrens’ needs and requirements. This care plan is then built into our daily routines to ensure children are given appropriate individual attention throughout the day.

8.00 – 9.00 Welcome Time - A time for staff to greet parents and welcome children. Breakfast (available up to 8.45am) and Free play.
9.00 – 9.15 Group Time / Register - This can include flash cards, weather board and singing.
9.15 – 9.45 Group Activity - This includes 1 adult led activity based around our monthly theme, other activities also available. i.e sand, water, role play and outdoor play.
9.45 – 10.15 Snack Time / Washing Hands - The children to help prepare and offer to their friends. Snack includes milk/ water, fresh fruit, crackers and bread sticks.
10.15 – 11.00 Garden Time - This is a time for the children to discover and learn in our sensory, climbing and nature areas.
11.00 – 11.30 Free Play / Activities - Activities may include 1-1 art/craft activities, heuristic play, music & movement, physical play and a variety of toys.
11.30 – 11.45 Story Time - The children listen to a story before lunch and help to prepare the lunch table.
11.45 – 12.15 Lunch Time / Washing Hands - The children join their friends for fun sociable time. After lunch the children brush their teeth.
12.15 – 2.15 Sleep / Rest Time - A time for the children to sleep/rest whilst listening to relaxation music. Toys and activities will be provided for children who do not wish to sleep and only attend for the afternoon session.
2.15 – 2.30 Group Time / Welcome Children - This will include taking the register, flash cards, weather board, singing and music.
2.30 – 3.00 Group Activity - This includes 1 adult led activity based around our monthly theme, other activities also available. i.e sand, water, role play and outdoor play.
3.00 – 3.30 Garden Time - This is time for the children to have outdoor fun and exercise.
3.30 – 4.00 Tea Time / Washing Hands - Children help to prepare the tea table and are encouraged to develop their social skills alongside others.
4.00 – 4.30 Story / Music Time - A time for the children to listen to stories and discover the sounds many instruments can make.
4.30 – 6.00 Free Play / Home Time - This is a time for the children to choose toys that they enjoy playing with.
