Current Vacancies at our Nursery
The Wishing Tree Nursery is a private setting registered to care for 86 children aged from 3 months to 5 years. We are located in a 1920's detached family house which has nine playrooms over three floors, a kitchen, staff room, soft play room, conservatory, office, laundry room and milk kitchen. We are also very proud of our extensive garden which covers over 5000 square feet and has been highly acclaimed for its wide variety of resources and imaginative layout.
We strongly believe that continuity of staff is vital for quality and successful childcare, which in turn enhances our reputation. We have staff members who have worked with us for almost as long as the nursery has been open since 2004 and we believe this is due to the environment we have created.
Our staff members are encouraged and supported in developing their careers as far as they wish to take them and the open environment we have created in our setting supports staff in balancing their work and home lives. In the same way that we are looking for great staff to join our team, candidates who apply for positions at our nursery are also looking for a setting where they can develop their careers. We can promise that successful candidates will find we are very supportive of our staff and encourage reflective practice and self improvement Below are listed the vacancies we have at the moment.
Applying for a Position at our Nursery
If you're thinking of applying for a position here at the nursery, please consider the following hints and tips which might help your application:
Think carefully about what you want from a position here, full-time, part time, school-time
Do you have an up to date CV which you can either email or post to us?
If you're not qualified, and we have a trainee position, you'll be required to take a level 3 Early Years Educator, which is an 18 month commitment. Between the bursary and nursery contributions, you should find that you will be paying a minimal amount towards the diploma.
If you're applying from another nursery, we'll need to take up specific references about your childcare role there. We'll also need to perform pre-employment checks such as a DBS, identity check, personal references, qualification check and visa checks as appropriate.
Interviews are very relaxed and designed to put you at your ease. Naturally we will need to understand the level of your skills and expertise in childcare. If the interview is successful, we will ask you to spend some time with us in a trial day or even week. This is paid for by the nursery even if you are not successful. Over the years we have developed an understanding of what candidates need to show of their best. Good Luck! You can download an applications form here
